*whoa.* There's a roof over my head"

Hi all! This is Sarah:) Sorry it's been so long since the last entry on John's house blog. We're fixin' to change that. I'll be helping John to keep everyone up-to-date on the rebuild through this blog. For any other info on the house that he might not have added you can find it HERE. So far we've seen alot of progress! It went from a dozed lot into a fully framed building within a month and half. You can view the pictures on John's picasa web album. Everything is coming along smoothly; we've picked out paint colors (located in sarah's blog), light fixtures, roofing shingles, and where we want electrical outlets, light switches and light locations. The projected completion date is Sep. 1st, but the foreman on the project said it could be as early as July, so that's good news!

Thats all time will allow for tonight; we'll be logging on and typing away again soon, so keep watch!

First sign of work, debris removal.

From * Debris Removal
I noticed leaving my sister's house a couple of weeks ago a refuse container hauler leaving my side of the street, empty. I went over to my house and they had dropped off three huge roll-on containers. That following Saturday I drove by the house with my former roomate Kent because it was our last chance to look for any remnants we wished to pull out. We arrived to find a group of 8 workers that had emptied about a third of the debris! Good news. The pictures linked above are from Sunday the next day.

My contract with the contractor states the "target" due date is Sept 1st of this year. As long as everything progress fine it should happen. More on that later.

The Rebuild Begins

The project has finally started to rebuild my house that burned down on Sept. 27th 2006. I plan on documenting the progress made here rather than send emails every week to people interested. Mostly I'll post links to new pictures but I'll also try to write a paragraph or two.

There is a small email icon at the bottom of each post if you wish to let people, that I may have missed in my initial email, know where to find latest updates. Also, on the right is a small list of recently added pictures to my gallery. Links with a * are house related. If I procrastinate on making new posts for all the pictures I take, check there for recent items (or you can RSS my photo gallery feed (I suggest Google Labs Reader for that ability)).
